Floor Monkeys are a small family-run business based in Westcliff On Sea Essex. Whilst we are new to the web we have been installing floors since 2003.
We will happily take on anything from a small bathroom or hallway to a cavernous office or warehouse space, re-clad your stairs in Laminate or real wood and a host of options in between. We can happily fit your new Skirting boards and Architraves or complete any other finishing tasks you may require.
Our Fitters are friendly, punctual, hardworking and knowledgeable. We can answer many of your questions and ease many of your concerns when we visit and provide a free and no-obligation quote.
We can happily bring samples direct to your door when we measure or point you in the direction of a local specialist store for a more comprehensive selection.
We have been doing this for a long time now and have covered a wide range of eventualities so please feel free to give us a call and discuss your needs. We have worked tirelessly over the years to grow our business by word of mouth alone and are pleased to say we've never had a customer say that they wouldn't recommend us.
The choice of flooring is almost endless and limited only by your own home or office design ideas and budgets. The most important thing is that you ensure you choose the correct product for your needs so please feel free to contact us to arrange a visit. We can bring samples with us and you may be surprised at how we compare to the 'bargains' at your local DIY store..

Essentially speaking this is a photograph or design transferred onto resin and then bonded to fibreboard of varying thicknesses.
This is the most common flooring we fit. It offers the cheapest solution to your flooring needs with the quickest installation time and the least ongoing care and maintenance for you the customer. All laminate is not equal however and ranges from cheaper budget lines to thicker, more realistic wood plank designs. There are also a number of Tile-effect laminate floors popular for kitchens, bathrooms, conservatories and Orangeries etc.

A real wood top layer bonded to a softwood or plywood base-layer.
This is often seen as the 'middle ground', a cheaper option than REAL wood flooring. Whilst this may have been the case historically, the modern engineered floors are now far better produced on a plywood base and often offer a tighter, better fitting and better quality finish than many solid wood floors. This increased stability therefore makes them most suitable for installation over under floor heating systems.
These floors are most commonly glued or 'clicked' together and laid on an underlay on top of the existing subfloor and therefore offer a reasonably quick and trouble free installation. It is possible to nail, screw or glue them down should you require it.

Regarded by many as the best flooring available, requiring the greatest subfloor preparation and the most labor-intensive and costly installation.
The planks must be bonded to solid concrete floors with a suitable adhesive or nailed/screwed over the existing subfloor or even directly onto your floor joists.
This is commonly assumed to be the dearest flooring but the truth is that it's often cheaper than the engineered option.
